Small Business Saturday 2021 in Indianapolis: where, how to shop

The holiday shopping season is fast approaching and local businesses are gearing up to welcome shoppers.

This year’s sales are once again crucial as small businesses face a second year of survival during the pandemic. Supply chain issues and logistics bottlenecks plague both big box retailers and local businesses. And in a survey by American Express, 78% of business owners said holiday sales will impact their ability to stay in business in 2022.

Christmas trees, sweaters, gifts in the order of shipment:How supply chain issues will affect holiday shopping

With “Small Business Saturday,” communities are working to support local stores during the peak holiday season. The move predates the pandemic, with American Express helping to launch it in 2010. It’s the Saturday after Black Friday, so this year it falls on Saturday, November 27.

If you’re looking to buy locally and support independent businesses this year, here’s what you need to know to get deals.
