Photos with Santa at Sunshine Pet Supplies to support the food bank – West Kelowna News

Sun and Santa

Sunshine Pet Supplies wants to help those in need in the community this holiday season.

The West Kelowna Independent Pet Store is hosting their annual photos with Santa this Saturday, November 27, from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m.

Entry is by donation. All proceeds will go to the Central Okanagan Food Bank, says owner Steve Gregory.

“We have championed many causes in the past, but felt that this year the food bank was in dire need of help. Our goal this year was to try to help them as much as we could. “

Gregory says they can accommodate just about any type of pet. “We’ve had everything from tarantulas and snakes to lizards, dogs and cats. Even a pony, we would try, ”he jokes.

“The staff really went out of their way to try to make this experience a fun and enjoyable one for everyone.”

The photo studio will be located in the neighboring Sunshine Pet Supplies building, located at 3011 Louie Drive.

Gregory said they designed the space to allow people to maintain physical distance. Due to concerns about COVID-19, you are asked not to bring children, if possible.

There will be gifts and prizes, including a dog water fountain and a cat water fountain.

He hopes they will have a good turnout. “We’ve had as low as 75 in some bad winter days, and we’ve had up to 150.”
