Elizabeth Olsen takes the Scarlet Witch quiz

Some actors do a tremendous amount of research into the roles they take on, digging deep into the character’s lore so they can fully immerse themselves in the character they’re about to portray. When it comes to the world of superheroes, there’s often so much history out there that it can be hard to take it all in, actor Elizabeth Olsen is put to the test as she attempts to answer trivial questions about her Marvel superhero character – Wanda Maximoff aka Scarlet Witch.

To promote his latest film, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of MadnessOlsen sat down with POPSUGAR to take a quiz about her character, with questions about the comics and her appearances in the MCU.

Olsen has played Wanda Maximoff since 2015 Avengers: Age of Ultron (although yes, she made a brief uncredited appearance in Captain America: The Winter Soldier) and has appeared in six films within the MCU to date and directed her own miniseries Wanda Vision. Not only that, but the comic book character made his first appearance in 1964, so that’s a lot of history to cover!

The actress answers questions like “What’s the term you use for Scarlet Witch’s hand movements?”. and more obscure ones like “In the comics, Wanda is fed by a creature that has traits of what animal?”

The former is easy on the actress, who obviously uses hand gestures a lot in her performance and has been dubbed “wiggly-woos.”

“We call them wiggly-woos because the AD department that was on Age of Ultron came Harry Potter and so they called the magic in Harry Potter wiggly-woos and so they called what I did wiggly-woos.

The latter was a bit more difficult, with the actress guessing “dumb dog” when the correct answer was… cow.

You can watch the Scarlet Witch in her latest outing in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness in theaters now.
