Dogs on the trail: Midland animal rescue welcoming ‘K9 Katwalk.’


MIDLAND, MI — The dogs will be on the catwalk this week as part of a fundraiser for an animal rescue in the Midland area.

the Midland County Pit Stop hold a “K9 Gateway” event at 6 p.m. on Thursday, May 19. The event is intended to raise funds to cover veterinary care and supply costs for pets that Midland County Pit Stop takes care of each year. According to the Pit Stop, the organization’s audit and supply costs were paid with $52,863.28 in donations.

A canine fashion show will be the highlight of the event where the dogs will show off their outfits to the crowd. Before the fashion show, there will be two rounds of silent bidding. The event will end with a karaoke contest. Karaoke participants can make a small donation to participate.

Tickets are $40 each and include a meal at NOM NOM Ninja Food Truck or Wonder Burger Truck. Tickets for the event are available at or in person at the Lil’ Pear Tree, 702 S. Saginaw from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Walk-in ticket sales will also be available the night of the event.
